What a conference. If you are a part of the Healthcare community and you have not attended the Healthcare Industry User Group (HIUG), then you missed an amazing event. The week of June 18th thru the 21st over 600 Oracle Healthcare customers and partners met in Orlando, Florida for the 2017 HIUG conference. PeopleSoft customers from HCM, Supply chain, and Financials were well represented at the conference and excited with what Oracle is doing to continue the evolution of the PeopleSoft applications. I attended multiple presentations and heard stories of success and a new found energy around the PeopleSoft HCM application. Many healthcare customers are continuing to make PeopleSoft their primary HCM application, with some customers in attendance getting ready to go live for the first time on PeopleSoft HCM. The investment that Oracle is making to PeopleSoft HCM and ELM applications as well as PeopleTools is being recognized and applauded. PeopleSoft HCM sessions were well attended and customers came with their questions in hand. Some of the biggest areas of discussion included:
- On-boarding – To say that customers are excited about what we are deriving with on boarding would be an understatement. Customers have been looking for Oracle to deliver a PeopleSoft onboarding solution for many years. Customers got to see a firsthand sneak peak and what we will be delivering utilizing fluid activity guides and built on the new activity guide composer. Customers also got a look at the roadmap and what we have planned over the next 24 months as we take PeopleSoft on boarding to the next level.
- Payroll - The PeopleSoft Payroll for North America and Benefits Roadmap session was well attended and it was great to discuss enhancements coming in both products with session attendees. Payroll customers are especially excited to get a delivered calc and confirm lockdown process, as well as enhancements to the Pay sheet Load process (PSHUP) to allow terminated employee processing. Benefits users are just as enthusiastic about new Fluid enhancements on the roadmap for Open Enrollment and Dependent/Beneficiary updates.
- Profile MGMT and tracking of License and Certification – A hot topic for customers this year was the use of PeopleSoft’s profile management for capturing and maintaining license and certifications. Customers discussed different ways they had accomplished this as well as having frank and honest conversations with product strategy on areas where customers have had to customize the delivered system. This conversation was invaluable to the Oracle team and gave us something to take back and look at as we look towards making PeopleSoft the HCM application of choice for Healthcare.
The HIUG board is to be commended on putting together another great conference. If you were unable to attend, I hope to see you in Phoenix next year as our Healthcare customers bring together their combined experiences to ultimately enhance patient care through maintaining of accurate employee records, rewarding employees and retaining of best in class employees, all with the help of Oracle PeopleSoft HCM.
We look forward to seeing you in Phoenix, AZ for HIUG 2018!!
